Chinese-Australian soprano Xiaoxu Aleta Shang holds a Bachelor of Music Studies, a Graduate Diploma of Music (performance) and a Master of Music (opera performance) with scholarships from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. 

Her operatic roles include La princesse in L’enfant et Les Sortileges by Ravel; Hannchen in Die Opernprobe by Lortzing; La Fée in Cendrillon by Massenet; Prince Charming in Cendrillon by Viardot; Emilie in Emilie by Kaija Sarriaho; Soprano solo in Nelson Mass by Haydn; Second women in Dido and Aeneas by Purcell; Santuzza in Cavalleria Rusticana by Pietro Mascagni. 

And she also performed as the chorus in opera and requiem: Requiem by Mozart, L’Anima del Filosofo by Haydn, The Dream of Gerontius by Elgar, Alexander Nevsky by Prokofiev, Tosca by Puccini, La Bohème by Puccini, Requiem by Verdi. She also joined Bondi Festival as a principal in the “Song of the Sirens” program with Blush Opera.
